Admission Procedure

The admission procedure of the college is strictly on basis of merit. As per the Panjab University rules, only those students are admitted who have passed the previous examination. The criteria for admission to different courses can be obtained from the college prospectus.

However, extra credits at the time of admission are given to prospective students if they have any or as many of following:

  1. NCC
    • N.C.C ‘A’ Certificate      1%
    • N.C.C ‘B’ Certificate      2%
    • N.C.C ‘C’ Certificate      3%
  2. College Roll of Honour      1%
  3. College Colour                 1%

There are different categories like General, Backward, Sports, Handicapped, etc. A candidate can apply for admission under more than one category as applicable. However, he/she has to fill separate admission forms for this. Once specified, the category is not changed. Admission is done as per Panjab University rules.

Photo-copies of the documents mentioned below are to be attached with the admission forms.

  1. Birth Certificate (Matric)
  2. Character Certificate from the last institution(School/College)
  3. Detail Marks card of all examinations passed
  4. 2 Passport Size photographs
  5. Blood Group Certificate from Dr./Lab
  6. Students of Schools/Colleges from states other than Punjab require eligibility certificate. However, this rule does not apply to C.B.S.E candidates.
  7. A Photo Identity Card from the employer is to be attached with the admission form for admission in the evening college.

According to Punjab Government orders Reservation of seats for admission are as follows.

Schedule Caste
Backwards Caste
Children of Personnel of B.S.F, Armed Forces and the Police including those personnel who passed away during their service.
Sports Persons
Wards of Teachers of Affiliated Schools and Colleges
Families which were victims of Terrorist attacks.
Handicapped Students
Family Members of Freedom Fighters
Families which were affected by Tsunami
